Quick Answer
SULFUR's Sewers contain four floors, an amulet altar on Floor 3, and no major boss at the end. Follow yellow-lit openings to advance, then follow the illuminated route on Floor 4 toward the Hedge Maze. Bring underwater gear, because enemies can attack while submerged.
How do you enter and navigate the Sewers?
You enter beside the Town entrance after defeating the Black Guild Cardinals, then follow yellow-lit openings through four floors.
The Sewers are the third area. If you still need to clear Town, check the Black Guild Cardinal boss guide before looking for the entrance.
Enter to the right of the Town entrance
After defeating the Black Guild Cardinals in Town, take the entrance to the right of the Town entrance. Expect winding hallways and submerged corridors. Some passages require swimming, so prepare for underwater travel before pushing deeper.
Follow yellow light through the early floors
Look for an opening illuminated by yellow light, usually near the end of each long stage. Use that light to identify your way forward when corridors become confusing.
Explore submerged areas when it is safe. Breakable objects can also appear beneath the water, so underwater sections contain more than connecting passages.
Find the altar on Floor 3
Floor 3 contains an amulet altar. Keep this floor in mind when planning around your amulet.
Clear Floor 4 and continue toward the Hedge Maze
Fight through the remaining enemies on Floor 4, then follow the illuminated route toward the Hedge Maze. You do not face a major boss at the end of the Sewers.
Which gear helps you survive underwater?
Diving Fin and Diving Mask help with underwater movement and visibility; Oxygen Tank and Extra Lung extend safer dives.
Check your SULFUR items before entering passages that require swimming. Choose equipment around the underwater problem you need to solve.
| Item | Underwater benefit |
|---|---|
| Diving Fin | Helps you move through submerged areas. |
| Diving Mask | Helps you see underwater. |
| Oxygen Tank | Makes extended underwater swimming safer. |
| Extra Lung | Makes extended underwater swimming safer. |
Oxygen Tank and Extra Lung can help you cross submerged areas without drowning damage. Visibility and breathing matter separately: seeing the route does not remove the danger of a long dive.
Which enemies and hazards should you watch for?
Watch for underwater attacks, poisonous frogs, and Corrupted Lurks that inflict Poisoned.
Black Guild enemies include Bruiser, Tracker, Rifleman, and Guard Dog. Corrupted enemies include Corrupted Spearman, Corrupted Archer, Corrupted Guildsman, Corrupted Guildsman (Ranged), and Corrupted Lurk. Elite variants also appear.
Black Guild and Corrupted enemies fight each other. However, enemies can submerge and attack you underwater, so a flooded corridor can still contain active threats.
Some enemies are covered in black sulfur and take additional shots. Poisonous frogs can disappear beneath the surface, then leap out to ambush you. Watch the water as you advance toward the next yellow-lit opening.
Jumping into water removes Poisoned, which Corrupted Lurks commonly inflict. Check for submerged enemies before using water to clear it.
Is there a boss at the end of the Sewers?
No major boss waits at the end of the Sewers.
Fight through the remaining enemies on Floor 4, then continue toward the Hedge Maze. Use the SULFUR walkthrough to follow the wider route beyond the Sewers.
