How do you charge The Amulet?
Use a shrine, or pay 1000 Sulf to the Gravekeeper at the Church or Fex Shuen within stages.
Find a shrine
Shrines usually appear around a region's midpoint. In the opening caves, you find an amulet altar beyond the raised bridge.
Shoot the fixture connected to the bridge's rope mechanism, then cross to reach the altar. Use the Caves walkthrough if you need help reaching this part.
Trigger the shrine
Triggering a shrine automatically equips The Amulet so it can absorb energy. This also clears cursed slime and opens paths by pushing back The Witch's curse.
The Amulet asks you to bring it closer to the shrine.

Check the charge icon
Watch the inventory icon change from empty to partially full, then full. The game announces when The Amulet is ready.

The activation starts a long channeling sequence, followed by a short cinematic. The trip spends your charge and teleports you to the Church.
Your first use includes an introduction to the Church. Later uses take you straight back.

What happens if you do not charge The Amulet?
Without enough essence, The Amulet says it needs more and cannot perform the return teleport.
