SULFUR Game Guide

Quick Answer

The Witch is SULFUR's final boss, fought in Beyond the Veil after the Desert. Repair and restock before crossing, then handle her teleports, copies, shockwaves, lasers, and summons. Prepare to complete her phases rather than relying on a one-shot kill.

Where do you find The Witch and start the fight?

You find The Witch inside the Church in Beyond the Veil, beyond the Desert.

Prepare before crossing the Veil

Leave the Desert boss arena and continue to the Veil. The Amulet warns that you cannot return after entering. Return to the Church first if you need repairs, ammunition, or healing supplies.

You lose The Amulet at the beginning of Beyond the Veil, preventing a teleport back. Finish your preparations before committing to the crossing.

Follow the route to the Church

Cross the Veil and follow the single available route. The Wise Old Woman waits inside the Church and reveals herself as The Witch.

Beyond the Veil contains Rödsopp for crafting Rödsopp Paste or Health Potion. You can also retrieve healing and repair items from the Priest's Chest before fighting.

Pick up the amulet when ready

The Witch asks you to pick up the amulet. That interaction starts the final battle, so finish restocking before accepting.

What loadout should you bring against The Witch?

Bring a well-enchanted weapon, healing supplies, and equipment that improves your movement or jumping.

Loadout choiceWhat it helps you do
High burst damageDeal damage during openings between attacks.
High pellet count with Chain LightningClear additional enemies when the fight runs long.
Increased jump height or additional jumpsAvoid the lasers with more room for error.
Ass Wheel™ and Knee PadsEvade additional enemies and many projectiles without homing.
Rödsopp Paste or Health PotionRestore health during the fight.

Chain Lightning is an enchantment. Combine your damage setup with movement tools instead of depending entirely on one powerful trigger pull.

How do you beat The Witch's attacks?

Keep moving, attack between abilities, and clear summons before they accumulate.

The Witch fight fills the Church with bursts you have to dodge.

Shown at 19:10 in The Homie Dot’s video.

The encounter repeats attacks, with faster or more dangerous combinations later. Use this sequence to recognize each threat, while allowing for differences between versions.

Track teleports and find the real Witch

Shoot when The Witch reappears after teleporting. When copies appear, shoot the illusions to remove them.

The real Witch has a bouncing animation. Hitting her real body ends the copy phase, giving you a way through without clearing every illusion.

Keep clear of mines and jump shockwaves

Keep moving around the glowing yellow mines so they do not trap you. Jump over the shockwaves from her human form, then attack during the gaps.

Another attack brings Watcher enemies and bombs while she flies around the arena. Keep space available for dodging as you deal with these threats.

Use your jumps through the laser section

Jump over incoming lasers and continue shooting during this section. Increased jump height or additional jumps help you avoid the upper and lower laser patterns.

Adjust your forward and backward movement as the lasers arrive. After enough damage, you return to the main arena.

Clear eggs and deal with summoned creatures

After leaving the laser obstacle room, clear the eggs before fighting The Witch in blob form. The fight-change explanation at 19:10 describes this transition.

Another version has her throw pods that mature into Watcher, Sentinel, or Abomination enemies. Small black orbs also become large sulfur creatures capable of attacking from beneath the ground.

Eliminate summoned enemies before too many accumulate. Keep enough space to dodge while continuing to damage The Witch.

Maintain movement through repeated attacks

Earlier attacks return in more dangerous combinations, including crows with mines and faster lasers. Use healing when necessary and keep attacking through the repeated phases until The Witch falls.

Can you one-shot The Witch, or does she have damage gates?

Prepare for damage gates; the one-shot strategy belongs to a conflicting version of the fight.

One version allows a single trigger pull to kill The Witch and has no health gates. The 1.0 account says bosses have damage gates and cannot be one-tapped.

The phase descriptions also differ. One has six repeating phases; another adds eggs after the laser room before her blob form.

Do not plan your run around skipping the entire fight with burst damage. Exact current damage thresholds and phase counts are still being clarified here.
